Dale Iver Koski

1937 ~ 2019

Dale Iver Koski, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away January 2, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Dale was born Nov. 7, 1937 in the mining town of Clearcreek, UT, to Iver Joel and Phyllis Sutton Koski. He was the oldest of 3 children, having a younger brother, Kenneth (Rosemarie) both deceased and a much younger sister, Sherlee (Evan) Smith.

He grew up hiking, hunting, and fishing in the beautiful mountains around his home. His first 8 years of school were in a one room school house environment. To be able to finish his remaining school years, he had to border with other families in Mt. Pleasant. It was there that he met his first wife, Charlotte, the cherished mother of his children, Annette (John) Erickson, Camille (Mark) Johnson and Duane (Darcy) Koski.

Dale finished his education at BYU and went on to teach Industrial Arts and Math in the Murray School District for 34 years. In addition, he always had a second occupation in HVAC, to enable him to raise his family and give them the education he was so much a proponent of.

One of the things he was very proud of and enjoyed doing most, was designing and building his home in Midvale. He also loved duck hunting, fishing and camping.

After losing his first wife to complications from Diabetes in 1992, he met and married, Sandra Petersen Lindquist Keele in 1994. They had a combined family of 8 children, 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

In Nov. of 1998, Dale and Sandra moved from Midvale to Ivins, UT and enjoyed many years of camping, travel, and just exploring the beautiful areas nearby as well as spending time with family and friends

Dale was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. He was very instrumental in helping promote and build a church camp called Star-Point in Scofield, UT. He dearly loved being there and spent many enjoyable camp-outs whenever possible.

Dale will be remembered as a kind, peaceable, unobtrusive man with a dry wit, who was always willing to help wherever he could and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to those hospice care givers from Integrated Health Care Service and all those who gave him loving care.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Private family visitation from 10 - 11 am and a public visitation from 11 am - 12:00 noon. Grave dedication to follow.
