Marcia Lynne Ostler Bray

1941 ~ 2019

Marcia Bray our Beloved Mother and Grandmother, who loved us to the moon and back, passed away on Nov. 19, 2019.

Marcia was born July 10, 1941 to Joseph L. Ostler and Mary Fern Leonard. Marcia graduated high school in Twin Falls, Idaho where she was on the drill team and an honor student. She earned a scholarship to BYU where she graduated with honors in elementary education.

Marcia taught 2nd grade at Sunrise Elementary for over 30 years where she taught over three thousand children to read. She spent long hours thinking of unique ways to teach her beloved second graders and was known for her creativity, hard work and ability to connect with all of her students individually. She earned numerous honorary teaching awards.

Marcia's passions and love included:

-vacuuming at 11:00 pm or 5:45 am or both in one day

-ironing dish towels, jeans, t-shirts and even socks.

-she knew every sale within 100 miles for holiday decorations, clothing, and fine furniture.

-she loved holidays and had several showcase Christmas trees she rotated throughout the years.

-she drank Diet Coke instead of water to power her through teaching school and raising a family all by herself. She quit in her later years, but never lost the love.

Marcia considered her greatest accomplishment her children and grandchildren.

She worked tirelessly to support her family and teach them the gospel. She was relieved when all of her children served missions and graduated from college.

Marcia was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a temple worker and always served faithfully no matter the calling.

She is survived by her children, Andrea, Christopher (Gale), Nathan (Dani Jo), 10 grandchildren (who she loved to the moon and back), and sibling Jay (June) Ostler. Also many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Services honoring Marcia's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Riverton 3rd Ward Chapel located at 12998 S. 1300 W. Riverton UT 84065, where a viewing will be held 9:30 - 10:45 am. Interment Sandy City Cemetery.
