Vaughn J Christensen

1946 ~ 2014

Vaughn J Christensen completed his earthly sojourn, flashlight in hand, on October 9, 2014. His sense of humor, great integrity, strong Christian faith, and meticulous work ethic go with him as family and friends reflect on his unflinching determination to succeed, in spite of a 17-year battle with brain cancer.

As a self-taught computer programmer, Vaughn started his own software company in 1979 and expanded it internationally. He was a University of Utah business major, all the while studying religion and maintaining a valiant faith in Jehovah. He diligently prepared for his Sunday meetings by studying the Bible and the Watchtower, pouring over them even when his comprehension was severely diminished.

Born in Salt Lake City on April 4, 1946, Vaughn has been married for 30 years to Linda Prusse of Denver, Colorado. He is survived by Linda; his mother, Ramona Migliaccio; sisters Karen and Susan; and children from a previous marriage: Teresa (Saul)Torres, Neil Christensen, and Elizabeth (Alex) Elezi; and stepdaughters Christine and Carole. We reflect with joy that Vaughn will be reunited in the Resurrection with his father, Neil J Christensen, who passed away in 1970.

As Vaughn "changes locations," he doesn't need his flashlight to light the way, but we are pleased that the light emanating from it offered both comfort and security. We remember him with unfailing love and admiration for his goodness, tenacity, and enduring faith in God.

Services will be Friday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. A visitation will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30. Memorial donations may be made to the Draper Senior Center, 1148 E. Pioneer Road, Draper, 84020.
