Iris Lunn Martin

1926 ~ 2015

Beloved mother and grandmother, Iris Martin, completed her life mission early the morning of May 1, 2015. Iris was born in Ephraim, Utah to Wilford Guy and Edna Virginia Sparks Lunn. She married John David Martin on January 17, 1947. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Iris enjoyed being surrounded by her family, traveling throughout the West with her husband in their camper and later, their fifth wheel, cruising with friends, and attending the performances and athletic events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long-time supporter of Utah hockey beginning with the SL Golden Eagles. An active member of the LDS Church, she held many auxiliary positions and served a mission in South Salt Lake with her husband.

Iris is survived by her three children: Candice (Rick) Kammerman, Robert Martin, and Bill (Chris) Martin; sisters in-law, Donna Sonntag and Evelyn Geigle; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and, her faithful dog, Romeo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepfather, brother, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 5th, at noon in the Highland View Ward, 3150 South 2900 East. Friends may call Monday, May 4th, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple from 6 ‚ 8 pm and Tuesday 11-11:45 am at the ward. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs at Canyon Home and Hospice and Silverado Aspen Park for their loving, thoughtful care.
