Olive Erma Kunz Thompson

1943 ~ 2016

Our Precious Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend Olive Erma Kunz Thompson went home to her Father in Heaven on Friday June 24, 2016 at age 73. Born on May 13, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the youngest of all the children born to Morris Quincy Kunz and Olive Allred Kunz. As we, her posterity, reflect back on our lives with her and the countless hours we spent in her company, we cannot help but feel blessed by the woman that she was. Mom was a talented seamstress. She loved to sew and often had things she was sewing or doing for other people. As for us, growing up everything was handmade ‚ our dolls and blankets, everything down to the clothes on our backs ‚ handmade with love by our Mommy. She also worked selflessly for many years house cleaning in order to provide for us 11 children, who she always said were her greatest joy and lovingly referred to as having "created her genealogy". Our dear Mother Erma was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by all 11 of her children ‚ Allen, Hyrum, Marilynn, Leland, Jennie, Maurine, Connie, Calvin, Orlando, Heidi and David, as well as 113 grandchildren and over 120 great-grandchildren. Through us, her legacy will continue to live on.

Services will be held Monday June 27, 2016 at 10:30 at the RCA Building in Bluffdale, with a viewing beforehand from 9:00 to 10:00. An additional viewing will be held Sunday evening, June 26th, from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be at the Rocky Ridge Cemetery following the funeral. All those who may have known or been touched by our wonderful Mother are welcome.
