Mary J. Blonquist, our kind, loving, selfless, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at age 86 on March 17th due to causes incident to age. She was born July 19, 1929 in Lund, Utah to Luis and Maria Jimenez. She was a devoted daughter and spent many years taking care of her parents. She married Richard Seth Blonquist on March 5, 1960. They recently were so happy to celebrate 56 years together. Our dad always told us that she was his angel, and he spent the last 14 years dedicated to taking care of her.
Mary worked for "Dan's Food" accounting offices for 25 years, where she made many wonderful friends. Everyone that met her loved her. She was kind to everyone and she always wanted to do something to help someone. The most important thing to her was her family. She was always happiest when she was with them. She was a perfect example to us of how we should live our lives. We couldn't have asked for a better mom and grandma. We will miss her more than words can say, but we have all the wonderful memories of her that we will cherish forever.
They had three children, Lisa Wiscomb (Robert), Dave Blonquist (Kristyn), and Steve Blonquist (Yolanda). She was so excited to become a grandma, and her grandchildren brought her a lot of joy and happiness. Lisa (Nicole, Ashley) and Dave (Brooke, Alec); they all loved her so much.
She was preceded in death by her sister Teresa, and brothers Fred, Johnny and Paul. She has one living brother, Jim in Las Vegas. She was a wonderful sister to all of her siblings and she loved them all very much.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.). A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City.
