Pat Deitrich

1937 ~ 2016

Mary Patricia "Pat" Rogers was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jay and Mildred Rogers. She took great pleasure being part of a large family (nine siblings) and had fond memories growing up in "the House on Michigan."

She attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School, spent many summers riding horses at the family cabin in Brighton, and spoke often about having "the perfect childhood."

Pat attended the University of Utah (Go Utes), where she met and married Bob Radford. They moved to Lompoc, CA, known as the city of Arts and Flowers, and spent many happy years raising their three children, Erin, Stuart, and Victor (who by the way also believe they had a great childhood).

Anyone who knew Pat knew she had great people skills. She made good use of those skills for many years working in the HR department for the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA. In 1979 she married Dick Deitrich. They were truly happy together, and enjoyed boating in the San Juan Islands, camping, traveling, and their beloved black labs Tac and Mokie.

Pat was a very thoughtful person, and was happiest when she was doing something nice for others. She always made time to send a special card or gift, and loved planning parties to help friends and family celebrate special occasions. In later years, she devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to Dick and other family members. If you spent any time with Pat, you knew that her favorite song was "Blue Moon", she loved cookies, saying her rosary, and was amazingly good at Kings on the Corner and BINGO.

After a full life, Pat passed away on September 13, 2016 with peace and grace. She will be deeply missed by many, but leaves us all rich in memory. She is survived by her children Erin Fisher (Jack), Stuart Radford (Renate), and Victor Radford, her sister Kay Hamilton, her many nieces and nephews, and her grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah, Jack, Lauren, Eric, and Jessica.

You are loved, you are missed, and you are remembered.

In memory of Pat, the family suggests you enjoy a cookie, hug someone, and do a good deed today. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carmelites.
