Stephen C. Crain

1955 ~ 2014

Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Stephen Charles Crain, passed away on Monday, April 7th, 2014 in Herriman, Utah. Steve was born on March 31, 1955 to Douglas and Harriet Carpenter Crain in Rochester, New York.

A mountain-man at heart, Steve, or "Uncle Seth" as he was nicknamed was the ultimate outdoorsman, explorer, adventurer, prankster, and handy-man. Hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, rafting, and boating were his favorite hobbies. He loved the Western and Southwestern United States and lived in: Washington, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. He loved the Rocky Mountains in particular and spent his adult life playing in the Great Outdoors. Steve was blessed with the ability to build, maintain, repair, and fix anything. May his spirit now soar across the Big Sky Country.

Survived by his wife Terri Bowen, children Daniel Douglas Crain and Christopher Stephen Crain, brother Thomas (Kristin) Crain, sisters-in-law Jill (Neil) Garner, Stephanie Bowen, Janet Bowen (Greg Anderson), Brenda (Derek) Peterson, nieces Katherine (Christopher) Crain, Meredith (Michael) Baumbach, Stacie Garner, Krystal Garner, Annie Peterson, nephews Casey (Laura) Garner, Blake (Brenda) Garner, Clay Peterson, Hunter Schultz, Griffin Peterson and Ransom Anderson, great nieces Lola Crain, Ava Baumbach, and a great nephew Thomas Baumbach. Preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Harriet Crain and a brother John Crain.

A memorial gathering with be held on Monday, April 14th, 2014 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Rose Canyon 1st Ward, 7079 West Rose Canyon Road, Herriman, Utah, where friends and family are welcome.
