Carole Anne Renda

1939 ~ 2015

Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother

Daughter of Ernest Andrew Deneke and Alice Jane Hughes, born 13 July 1939 in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, California. Carole was raised in West LA and Davis, CA with her siblings Ed and Cheryl. She graduated from Davis High School and attended Chico State University.

Carole married her sweetheart, Donald Vincent Renda, 24 January 1959 in Los Angeles LDS Temple and raised five sons in Van Nuys, Ventura, and Agoura, CA. She resided in Littleton, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Draper, UT; and Washington Terrace, UT. She passed away 25 November 2015 in Salt Lake City, UT at age 76 after celebrating Don's 80th birthday and 56 years of marriage. Carole was and always will be Don's "good girl."

Carole was a righteous daughter of our Father in Heaven and faithful convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She sent all five of her Eagle Scout sons on LDS missions and served twice as ward Relief Society President. She loved to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Carole was always willing to help family, friends or strangers with a ride, meal, or place to stay.

Carole cherished motherhood, loving her son's wives as her own daughters and had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren. She was also called mom by many whom she raised in foster care. She was politically active, had a passion for preparedness, loved researching her genealogy and was a DAR member.

Her passing was preceded by her parents, brother Edward Deneke, half-sister Jean Deneke and niece Judy Church. Survived by sister Cheryl (Jim) Nelson of Alturas, CA; aunt Joanne Rasmussen of Evanston, WY; sons: Scott and Patty of Everett, WA; Mark and Laura of Herriman, UT; Todd and Lisa of University Place, WA; Rick and Jamie of Ogden, UT; Matt and Karen of Kennewick, WA; 21 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren with 3 more en route. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery 4 December 2015.
