Norma Elease Christensen Anderton

1929 ~ 2014

Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed peacefully to meet her beloved father and mother on December 16, 2014 in Herriman, Utah. Norma was born October 4, 1929 in Garfield, Salt Lake County, Utah to Edward Marion and Marie Elizabeth Christensen. She was raised in a large family with 7 brothers and 3 sisters. She was married for time and eternity to Ted J. Anderton on September 2, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised a family of 5 sons and 2 daughters. They spent 65 years together in service to family, church and community. Ted and Norma served an honorable mission in the Hope, Arkansas Mission where they grew closer to the Lord, His people, and His purpose for them on Earth.

Norma was blessed with a beautiful singing talent and blessed the lives of many through her gorgeous voice. She fulfilled her dream of singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir where she sang her heart out for 15 glorious years. Her wit and charm were the hit at many parties and gatherings, she knew how to entertain and make people laugh. When Norma lost her singing talent, she made up for it with her talent of cooking and could make the best pies and baked goods that she enjoyed sharing with so many.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ted; her children, Michael (Joie), Vicki (Reynold) Allen, Julie (Richard) Clayton, Phillip (Lori), Gary (Michelle), David (Muray), and Brian (Rebecca). Norma was crowned with a posterity of 37 grandchildren, and 52 great grandchildren. She was welcomed home by her sweet granddaughter, Robynn Denamur, and grandson, Christopher, together they are singing in the heavenly choirs. We love you mom.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Grand View Ward, 5017 West Grand View Peak Drive Riverton, Utah. A visitation will be from 9:00-10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
