Richard Albert Craig

1949 ~ 2017

Richard Craig passed away on September 25, 2017. He was born in Maryland on February 26, 1949 to Laura and Richard Craig, growing up in Roy, Utah with younger brother John. Richard served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a radioman. An avid reader, he loved the blues, gardening and traveling the world.

Richard's love of the desert was a lifelong affair; camping, hiking and running rivers in and around Utah's southwest desert was his all-time happy place. He loved sharing his likes with many of his lifelong friends. His quick wit, sense of humor and appreciation of life will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by his wife Sherri, brother John Craig of Tyler Texas, brother-in-law David Winfrey, nephew Casey and niece Ashley, extended family and many life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and friends Bob Collins, Kevin Knight and Richard Tom Wharton. Who are all doing mischief!

A Celebration of Life is planned for all who knew Richard on Friday, November 3, 2017 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Gardner Village ‚ Archibald's Gear Room. You are invited to join in remembering the joy and friendship Richard brought into this world. Stories may be left in Richard's online guestbook at www.LarkinMortuary.com, who assisted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars at https://heroes.vfw.org/

At Last

I shall give myself to the desert again,

that I, in its golden dust,

may be blown from a barren peak

broadcast over the sun-lands.

If you should desire some news of me,

Go ask the little horned toad

whose home is the dust,

or seek it among the fragrant sage

or question the mountain juniper,

and, by their silence

they will truly inform you.
