Elizabeth Burrows Withers

1928 ~ 2014

Elizabeth (Betty) Burrows Withers, 85, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her home in Brigham City.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah July 22, 1928 to Wilford Creeland and Trieste Smith Burrows.

Betty married LaMar Thompson Withers January 4, 1946, and they enjoyed almost 60 years together. She loved crocheting, sewing, crafts, reading and crossword puzzles. Betty was very creative and shared her many wonderful creations with family and friends. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them and they loved her. She waterskied until Dad sold the boat and she had to stop. She and LaMar traveled extensively around the country and wintered in Arizona.

She is survived by her three children, Sheila (John) Goostrey of Boise, ID, Michael Withers of Magna, UT, Debra (Jeff) Brown of Brigham City, UT; ten grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Virginia Burton, Eva Spencer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Iva Wissler, Dorothy Holt, Donna Yates and brothers Glenn, Ralph, Richard, Robert, Ted and grandson David Mark Goostrey.

The family would like to thank her friends at Maple Springs, IHC Hospice, Integrity, and Ali's Angels for their kindness and friendship to our mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Crescent 16th ward, 275 East 10600 South, with a one hour viewing before services. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 8 PM at the Lakeland Ward, 2300 North University Park Blvd. Layton.
