Passed June 18, 2017, in Santa Rosa, CA, after a short illness. Helen was born on September 10, 1926, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Newell John Kuhre and Ruth Marie Jeremy. She married Lyman Self Burton on September 20, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a loving mother to five children: Michael, Susan, Kristin, Mark and Scott.
She worked for many years as the librarian/Media Center Coordinator at Riverview Junior High in Murray, UT. She passed her life-long love of books and reading to her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for learning and a curiosity about the world around her. She held many positions in the LDS Church throughout her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman; her daughter, Susan Burton Ossana; and her granddaughter, Autumn Mitchell. She is survived by four children, ten grandchildren and twenty-one greatgrandchildren.
The family wants to thank the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for their extraordinary care and the kindness shown to her in her last days. Private interment in Salt Lake City, UT.
