I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Gary from our new hire days with good ol Frontier Airlines in 1967 and, later, with America West Airlines in Phoenix.

Gary was such a great pleasure to be around and I always looked forward to seeing him at our SLC FLamily gatherings.

RIP Gary, you were truly one of the BEST!

Dear Kenda and Katie—

I have such fond memories of the many opportunities we’ve had to connect through the years— but especially the recent years when I had the privilege of serving as your bishop. All of those experiences tie back to Gary and I truly treasure the friendship we developed. His faithful service as a clerk for so many years was legendary! I loved his many stories and his eagerness to share them so enthusiastically. May you find peace during this difficult time and feel our Savior’s love— and know how much we all love you both.

I don't know why but it came to me to look up Gary and was sad to see he had passed. I knew Gary and kinda back in the 80s and loved being there friends. Kinda was always so sweet and kind and fun to be around. Gary was always funny had great since humor. Last time I saw Gary years ago whe he was pilot on a fight I was on. When we were coming in for landing to smaller airport he hit ground so hard so when I was getting off plane I saw Gary and asked him what kind landing was that. He had big smile on his face and said I don't know just hard land on this airport no lights and not much of runway laughing while he was talking to me. Kinda I am so sorry you were an amazing wife and such a great friend. I wish you and your daughters all the best in this tough time. It's been long time but never forgot what great friends you and Gary were.
