Franklin Glen Sheffield

1926 ~ 2013

Franklin "Glen" Sheffield, our beloved father passed away on December 6, 2013, at age 87. Dad was born in Loa, Utah on January 29, 1926. He was the son of Franklin Glen Sheffield and Rachel Rees. Glen's father was killed before he was born, so he did not know his own father. The family moved to Richfield, Utah when Dad was in 8th grade. Dad was a gifted athlete at Richfield High and played on their basketball, baseball, and track teams. Glen graduated from Richfield High School and then immediately joined Uncle Sam's Army and served in the Philippines during WWII.

Dad married Baur Dee Taylor in Loa, Utah on July 27, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 20, 1953. Baur Dee died at age 27.

Dad married, our mom, Donna Jensen Larsen on March 23, 1957. Dad unselfishly raised us and called us his own from the first day. Mom passed away in June 2009. Dad worked for Garrett Freightlines until his retirement. Glen loved his thoroughbred race horses and all his horsing buddies. Glen and Donna spent many summers with their horses.

Dad was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. Family was everything to Dad. He was an excellent example to everyone. We never met anyone who didn't like our father. We will miss you dad. Thanks for everything and blessing our lives and the lives of our entire family. We love you.

Survived by his 2 children, Jim (Barbara) Larsen and Judy (Eric) Robison, 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and his sister Marie Webster. Preceded in death by his brother Kent.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Springview Ward, 3153 South 900 East. Visitations will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the services at the church. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
