Geneva Mae Doane passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family.
Geneva was born February 1, 1935 in Acequia, Idaho at her parents (William and Maybell Stevenson’s) home.
She is survived by her cherished husband, Charles LaMar Doane and their seven children, Cheryl (Dennis Monson), Gayle (Dennis Walker), Marsha (Robert Sizemore), Max Doane (Tami), Carla (Barry Olsen), Carl Doane (Rachelle) and Jennifer (David Harden), 36 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren. Also, by her brothers John “Bert” Stevenson (Elaine) and Bud Stevenson (Myrna).
Charles and Geneva were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple on April 15, 1954.
She devoted her life to her family and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She moved with her family from Idaho in August of 1965 and resided in the Rose Park area of Salt Lake City for the next 55 years, where she served faithfully in the church and the community.
She served a mission for two- and one-half years with her husband Charles, for the Church, in the Europe North Area as Welfare Service Agents.
After their return she loved serving in the Salt Lake Temple.
Geneva is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Her family expresses deep gratitude for those who cared for Geneva at the Legacy Village of Sugar House and to Canyon Home Care & Hospice.
A funeral will be held in her honor Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Eaglewood Ward, North Salt Lake Utah Stake. The address is: 200 South Eagle Ridge Drive, North Salt Lake, Utah 84054. Masks are required.
A viewing will be held prior to the funeral in the same building at 9:30-10:30 AM.
