George Brent Handley

George “Brent” Handley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pharmacist, and friend, passed away surrounded by those he loved on May 9, 2026. Brent was born on July 10, 1941, in Salt Lake City to Vern Alred Handley and Mabel Webster Handley. He grew up in both Moab and Murray alongside his siblings Kathy, Floyd, Brad, and Cindy.

Brent graduated from The University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree and went on to serve as a pharmacist for more than 45years. He was deeply loved and respected by his customers and community. Brent was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others at any hour. Many remember him making late-night trips after pharmacy hours to help those in need. He took great pride in caring for people and built lasting friendships through his work.

On September 6, 1968, Brent married the love of his life, Jane Willis, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and family. Brent was a devoted father to Nicole, Russell (Tori), Cliffton (Molly), and Trenton (Millie).

He was a proud grandfather to Shireen (Bryan), Brooke (Bryce), Ayden, Kate, Ty, Westley, Benson, Evelyn, Jeffrey, and Annalise, and a loving great-grandfather to Jane and Valorie. Time spent with family was one of Brent’s greatest joys.

Brent had many hobbies and talents. He loved gardening, reading, woodworking, restoring old cars, camping, and tinkering with anything broken. There seemed to be nothing he could not fix. He was known for being honest, self-reliant, hardworking, and incredibly knowledgeable. His quiet wisdom, independence, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brent leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, and love that will continue through his family and the many lives he touched.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 11:45 to 12:45 PM. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
