George Lun Hong, age 97, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2020 in Draper, Utah. George was born on August 7, 1923 in Canton, China to Ding Fai Hong and Ms. Choi. He was married to Kam Fung Chan for 65 years and they had three children.

As a child growing up in China, he faced multiple hardships. He came to the United States in 1950 to begin a new life with better opportunities. His wife, daughter, and newborn son joined him in the U.S. in 1966. He was a chef and part owner of Ding Ho Cafe. After retirement, George took walks every morning and worked in his garden and yard. He had a strong work ethic and always provided for his family.

He is survived by his children: Ginger Lee, Timothy (Marjorie), and Howard (Carol); grandchildren: Belinda, Christine, Regina (Jerred), Minna (Ben), Sariah, Jonathan, and Kasey; great-grandchildren: Brendan, Samantha, Brianne, Alexis, James, and Tyson. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, wife, and son-in-law, James.

George will be missed by those that knew him, especially his family. The family will be holding a private service. The family wishes to thank relatives, friends, Community Nursing Services, and Larkin Mortuary for their support.
