Jerry Eugene Williams

Gerald (Jerry) Eugene Williams, age 82, passed away on June 14, 2022, after battling with dementia. He was born on November 6, 1939, to Evan Morgan and June Louise Rosenbaum Williams in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the second of seven children. He graduated from West High School.
Jerry married Vicky Arvon Ostberg on November 12, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah and they were blessed with three children. After working for the Salt Lake County Highway Department, he worked for Consolidated Freightways for 28 years where he serviced the trucks and changed the tires on the Semis, and eventually became the tire specialist which required him to order tires for all of the Western United States.

Jerry loved to watch and play sports. His favorites were playing softball, golfing, and bowling especially with his son Mark, son-in-law Brent and Bryan, and his grandkids. He loved taking his grandkids to the driving range, going golf ball hunting, teaching them how to bowl, and taking them to buy treats because they truly were the light of his life. He loved his family! Jerry was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and professional golf. He taught his family the importance of hard work and self-reliance through his words and actions as he taught the principles of being debt-free and living within your means.

He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and developed a love for his Savior Jesus Christ.

Jerry is survived by his wife Arvon; daughters, Cindy (Brent) Taylor and Candice (Bryan) Taylor; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Dennis (Elizabeth) Williams, Janet (Pete) Alders, Rick (Dana) Williams, and Jamie Baird. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark; son-in-law, Brent; and brothers, Evan and Doug.
