Gerald Eugene Jentzsch passed away on April 16, 2026, in Tooele, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City on July 13, 1931, to Helmer Jentzsch and Ruth Kingdon Jentzsch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Noreen Krupa, Deane Jentzsch, and Linda Webster.
He married Karen Wilson Van in 1965. We had 61 wonderful years and did a lot of things together. He will be missed
He had 5 children: Randy Jentzsch, Susan, Nadine Jentzsch, Peggy Earnst, and Steven Jentzsch.
2-step children, Sharon Van and Jeff Van. Also, he had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He graduated from high school and then volunteered in the army and served four years during the Korean War
He worked for Kingdon Sheet Metal most of his working career. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to do Temple work and was trying to do for his family and others. He will be deeply missed by many.
There will be a viewing on April 25th at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Larkin Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
Gerald was always so sweet and smiley when I saw him. I appreciated his goodness. I'm happy he is not suffering anymore.
I am so sorry for your loss and sorry to hear about this. He truly will be missed. I really enjoyed our hunting and fishing trips together.
Oh how we loved Jerry!! Many years hunting, fishing, riding dine buggies together. The last few years we haven’t seen one another as often as we could. He was so fun!! He will be so missed. We love you Karen. If you need anything, please reach out!! 💔🙏
i love Gerry he showed me so much by the way he lived always willing to serve where he was called he had a pure heart and he truly loved those around him and when he spoke those words of love to you they were not just words he totally ment it. Hope to see you in our other life. Love you. Russ
