  • Gerald Matthew Sheehan, beloved father, son, brother, and friend to all who knew him, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Gerry was born on Sept 12, 1960, in Huntington, New York, to Carole Nina Giamondi and James Francis Sheehan. Gerry had a real zest for life, which was apparent from early on as a child and continued throughout his life. He loved camping, traveling, riding his motorcycle, grilling, and passing time with friends and family.

His adventurous spirit took him from New York to Las Vegas, in 1988, where he met his wife Debra Kay Gunnell. Their travels led them to Utah where they put down roots and were blessed with a baby girl, Rachel Corinne Sheehan, the greatest joy of their lives. Seven years later, Debra suddenly passed away, leaving a love that could never be replaced. Gerry and Rachel remained in Utah, creating many happy memories.

Knowing Gerry was to know a man who never turned away a friend in need; a handyman always working on various projects; and a man who had a massive T-shirt collection. He will always be remembered for his charisma, easy going nature, kindness and unique qualities such as his fondness for lighthouses.

Gerry is survived by his daughter Rachel, mother Carole and brothers Thomas, Martin, and Kenneth. He will be missed dearly and will always reside in our hearts.

A viewing will be held Saturday, March 13th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM followed by funeral service at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.

    Guestbook/Condolences

I'm very shocked and sorry to hear about Jerry's passing. I've known Jerry for quite a number of years, working with him at several different companies. I always considered him to be a good friend and will miss saying "Hi" to him in the shop. He has always impressed me with the quality of his work building panels.
