Gerald Noel Miller (Jerry) passed away Sunday November 24, 2024 at age 87. Jerry was a devoted father, husband, brother, son and friend. He led a life of faith, sacrifice, service and love; and taught these ideals to others by his example.

Gerald was born March 29, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Noel Miller and Winifred Cundick. Many of his childhood years were spent in Tooele Utah. Jerry remembered those times fondly, including family activities and working in his father's hardware store. He had a talent for woodworking and became a skilled carpenter.

The family later moved back to Salt Lake City, where Gerald graduated from West High School. He met Suzanne Tuttle in the neighborhood and they fell in love. They were married on May 20, 1958, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Gerald graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in many industries including manufacturing, computing, and public utilities; in order to provide the means and circumstances to support the growing family. The couple developed lifelong friendships wherever they lived; and created loving, Gospel-centered homes for their family.  Gerald and Suzanne purchased their final home in 1969, wherein they and all their children created meaningful family memories.

Gerald worked tirelessly for his family; and often spent time after work improving the home, serving in the Church, and taking care of parents and other family members. He and Suzanne enthusiastically attended their children's many activities, and planned many wonderful family vacations and events. Jerry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He also participated in many sports including tennis, racquetball and bowling; and was a knowledgeable collector and hobbyist.

Gerald possessed an enduring testimony of the Savior, and loved his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was known for attention to detail and for his willingness to serve wherever needed; including callings as a bishopric counselor, and as a ward and stake clerk. Gerald was also called to serve as a Temple worker for many years in both the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples, some of those years alongside Suzanne. This service was particularly meaningful in both their lives.

Gerald and Suzanne were thrilled at the arrival of each grandchild and great-grandchild. They traveled to visit family members, and also vacationed together to see the beauty of God's creations in various parts of the world.

Gerald retired from work at Utah Power & Light in 1990. While Suzanne was still working, Gerald spent time visiting their children and helping them with many home and other projects. Over time, his physical and mental abilities declined due to illness. For many years, Suzanne quietly and lovingly cared for Jerry's needs.

In 2023, Gerald and Suzanne celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. Suzanne passed away in November 2023. Gerald died one year later, surrounded in his final days by his loving children and family members. The family sincerely thanks the dedicated caregivers with Sandstone Holladay and Suncrest Hospice for their kindness.

Gerald is survived by his children Douglas (Noreen) Miller, David (Lisa) Miller, Karen Miller, Kathryn (Darrell) Jones, eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his brother Lynn Miller. Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Miller, his parents Noel and Winifred Miller, and by two great-grandchildren: Leah KayLin Prince and Isaiah Jeremy Lisonbee.
