Robert \"Bob\" Lynn Miller

1952 ~ 2018

Bob was born December 21, 1952 in Pocatello Idaho to James (Jim) and Elaine Bateman Miller.

Bobby was the baby of the four boys. Not only was he the baby, but was preceded in death by both of his parents, Jim and Elaine, as well as each of his three brothers William (Bill), James (Skip), and Jerry, and his loving wife of 45 years MaryAnn just 14 short months ago.

Bob went to West High school and had an opportunity to play ball for the Salt Lake Gulls, but after learning of the death of his brother Billy, he chose to enlist in the Army where it took him to Germany and put the kibosh to his professional baseball career.

He met the love of his life in Junior High school (he was accused of stealing her purse in the hallway) and well, it\s history from there. They never left each others sides. After getting married on January 24, 1972, he and his beautiful wife spent their lives together raising their two children Troy (Angie) and Kym (Mike), their 5 Grand children, Angel, Hunter, Brook, Cheyenne, and Thalia, and their two Great grand children, Tayven and Adalyn, who all meant the world to them.

Bob was a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years where he made many friends that became extended family. He was a third generation railroader fourth member of his family to carry on the tradition. Being a railroader, it came with its ups and downs, but he always managed to provide countless camping and fishing trips with his wife and children as well as numerous family vacations. He always said, family is more important than the dollar.

Even though his professional baseball career was ended, he never lost the love for the game. After his grandson was born, he put in his transfer to come back to Utah so that he could coach him.

After 13 long years of teaching boys not to chase butterflies in right field, he came out with some amazing ball players one of them being his grandson Hunter that is headed to regional finals. The boys will all have coach Bob\s lifetime #10 on their hearts and jerseys as they play for him. Not only was he a fantastic coach, but in his off time from the team, he was also an umpire, meaning that he was ALWAYS at the field. If he was not coaching or umpiring, he was sitting at the softball fields watching his granddaughter Brook who has made the high school team.

Bob touched the hearts of more then any of us will ever have the pleasure of. In the holiday season, he helped out the North Pole and assisted the main man Santa. For anyone that ever had the pleasure of him coming to your home, you know the kind soul that arrived there. Always willing to spend the extra time with each and every person. Always willing to make a memorable impression, sometimes he even brought his elf helpers or even Mrs. Santa. For anyone who ever crossed his path and had the pleasure of meeting him, you will know that he is again with the love of his life, and is no longer suffering physically or emotionally and we can all take comfort in that. He will forever be in our hearts and missed beyond belief. We will ALL love and miss you DAD!!!!
