Gladys Viola Kumpitch Rowan was born in Hastings, Nebraska on November 4, 1919, and departed this life January 13, 2023, at the age of 103 years 2 month 9 days.
Her parents were Frank Paul Kumpitch from Slyce, Austria and Bessie Viola Smith from Hastings, Nebraska. Grew up in Ovid, Colorado.
Married Carl Joseph Rowan, later divorced. She had 5 children, Janet Elaine Rowan Brill, Jeanette Ilene Rowan Criddle, Max Gene Rowan, Maxine Joanne Rowan Cole, and Rex Edward Rowan. 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. Funeral Services will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
It was such an honor to have taken care of Gladys for the time I did. She will be missed greatly.
