Gloria Pauline Bruehl, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away on October 5th, 2023. She was born on November 16th, 1940 in Salt Lake City Utah. She was raised by her parents Elmer and Jane Korpela. She was the sixth of seven children. She had four brothers, Ricky, Larry, Jay, and Dennis. She also had two sisters Charolette and Marilyn.

She was an excellent bowler and loved to hang out at the bowling alley. This is where she would meet her husband. On June 8th, 1963, she married Howard Van Woerkom in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have two children, Julie, and Craig.

Over 40 years ago she was drawn to the wig industry and was employed at Jean Paree Weegs before taking over ownership of the business 23 years ago. She loved the people she served, was excellent at her craft, and helped many. She especially found joy in serving those with cancer. She worked up to the day she passed away.

She was a remarkable person who cared for many and loved all. She will be missed by many people whom she helped and loved throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling and seeing different parts of the world when she found the time. Her favorite times in her life were spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Howard Van Woerkom, her daughter Julie and her son-in-law Todd, her son Craig, and her daughter-in-law Jennifer. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Nathan, Vanessa, Savanna, Cole and Rok.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thank you to all the wonderful people who have been a part of her life and made her time here on this earth so enjoyable.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00 AM and will be preceded by a viewing at 10:00 AM. These services will take place at the Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 1950 E 10600 S in Sandy, UT.

My mom was a wonderful lady. She was so nice to everybody and everybody loved her and me her daughter. I don’t know what I’m gonna do without her. She was my heart. I love you mom I love you mom you’re my angel now. Please watch over me . . when we meet again, I love you mom😭😭💔

Gloria was more than a business to me, she was my friend for more than 25 years. She was great at what she did, and a wonderful person. We had many long talks. I will miss her very much. My love to Julie and the rest of the family.
