Karen Lynn Devaney passed away at her home on August 22, 2016. She will be dearly missed by many loving friends and family. Her smile, thoughtfulness and love for those around her will always live in our hearts.Karen was born January 23, 1963 in West Covina, California to Sharon and Gary Wakefield.
Just after graduating from high school, she married her sweetheart of 32 years, Bill Devaney on September 23, 1984. Together they raised 4 children: Billy Devaney, Kelly (Ryan) Roberts, Brittany (Jaron) Schacht, and Matty (Kristy) Devaney.
In 1995 they relocated to Sandy, Utah where they continued to raise their family. She was a very hard worker but being a great mom was her top priority. She was the heart of our family, and was an amazing mother, aunt and grandmother to 8 grandchildren; Ashlee, Kyle, Colbie, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Remi, Ryder and Kambri were the light of her life. She enjoyed doing crafts with them, having sleepovers and attending their various activities.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and beloved dog, Grizzy. Her father, Gary, and sister, Terri, as well as many aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon, sister, Kimberly, and brother, Scotty.
She leaves behind a legacy of love.
On Saturday, September 3rd, there will be a private graveside service at Larkin Sunset Garden. In honor of Karen, family and friends are invited to enjoy lunch and share memories on Saturday September 3, 2016 at noon, at the Wilkinson home. Contact Brittanyschacht21@gmail.com for details.
