Grace Alice Roberts, 86, died August 6, 2021 in Salt Lake County, Utah. She was born on June 28, 1935 in Barron, Wisconsin to Francis Clark Heath and Marion Day Etlicher Heath.

Grace graduated from the Preservation School of Nursing in South Dakota in 1959 and worked in clinics and physician offices most of her nursing career. At home she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening crafting and decorating for holidays. She usually made too much food because she learned to cook by cooking for the patients while working in her mother’s nursing home during the 1940’s. She loved flowers of all kinds but was especially fond of pansies, peonies and roses as they were her dad’s favorites. She was definitely a farmer’s daughter and loved to work in her yard.

Grace married Dallin R. Roberts on September 25, 1981 after knowing each other for just over two months. It was meant to be. They enjoyed each other’s company and were each other’s best friend.

Grace is survived by her husband Dallin, daughter Suzanne, son David, brother Donald and sister Marjorie. She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Marion as well as her step-mother Bessie who raised Grace from a very young age and who Grace considered to be her mom. Also preceded in death by her brothers Laverne and George, sisters Vera, Hazel and Delores.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 10, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Larkin Mortuary at 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton. A short graveside service will follow at 11 am at Herriman City Cemetery at 5355 West Herriman Main Street in Herriman . If you choose to come, please dress casually. Jeans, shorts, simple summer dresses and flip-flops are welcome. No ties please.

In lieu of flowers, bake and/or cook something to share with your loved ones or plant something in her memory.

She was a special person to my Grandmother Vera and our family. Always enjoyed visiting with her on her vacations to the Black Hills. I will always remember the way she always told it like it was, she will be missed.
