Helen Louise Stout Carder

1932 ~ 2013

Helen Carder, age 81, passed away December 30, 2013 in Sandy, Utah.

She was born on December 27, 1932 to Freeman Stout and Mary Straley Stout in Weston, West Virginia. Helen was the eldest of 8 children.

As a young woman, Helen graduated from Weston High School in 1950 and worked at Weston National Bank until she married Denver Carder in 1954. Helen and Denver moved to Ohio and then to Waynesburg, Pennsylvania where they lived from 1971 until her passing.

Helen was an amazing cook, loved quilting and had an affection for antiques. Helen valued her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was actively involved with many groups and activities. Helen also cherished her time spent volunteering for the Friends of Ruby Memorial Hospital at West Virginia University for over 15 years. Helen will be missed by so many whose lives she touched over the years.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband, Denver Carder, children Robin Carder Bradford (Steven and their daughter Christina),Dennis Carder (Lisette and their children Matthew and Rachel), 1 brother and 5 sisters. She was preceded in death by 1 brother.

Helen's family would like to thank the caring staff at Alta Ridge Alzheimer's Community for the loving care provided to Helen and Denver for the past 18 months.

A memorial service was held at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah on January 4, 2014 at 12:00 noon with a visitation held one hour prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
