  • Gwen Elaine Trappett Bennett Orr, born to George and Alice Trappett in Grace, Idaho on December 25th, 1935 passed away on December 9th, 2020 at the age of 84. Gwen moved to Salt Lake City in 1944 and graduated from West High School in 1954. Gwen received training as a medical technologist at Salt Lake General Hospital. Gwen married Hugh C. Bennett in 1957 and moved to Akron, Ohio. They had three children, with one daughter passing at birth.

Gwen left Akron in 1987 and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. After moving back to Idaho, Gwen met Robert G. Orr and they married in 1989. She lived out the rest of her life in the Salt Lake Valley, sewing, traveling, gardening and spending time with her friends in “club”. Gwen was a meticulous housekeeper and took extreme pride in her personal appearance. She rarely missed her Friday hair appointment with Peggy at Country Clippers in Bluffdale.

Perhaps most cherished, she spent countless hours compiling photo albums for each of her grandchildren, which they have all enjoyed immensely.

Gwen is survived by her husband Robert, her sons Don (Judy) and Hugh (Candy) Bennett, stepson Ryan (Lorraine) Orr, her eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren and sister Sandra (Dave) Cleaveland. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Hope and her daughter Patricia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at 2:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy, UT with a viewing beginning at 1:00 pm.
