Charles Raymond Needs

1931 ~ 2019

Charles Raymond Needs, our beloved family patriarch, husband and father passed away on 24 December 2019 at his Draper, Utah home. Charles was born on 04 October 1931 in Morrill, Nebraska to Fred and Francis Clay, their second oldest of four children. Charles married Goldie Marie Needs, his beautiful sweetheart on 27 November 1953 in Marsing Idaho. They enjoyed sixty-six years together loving their six children, twenty-four grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. They spent their last years together traveling the world and providing service to others.

Charles found his calling in retail and managed several major retail locations for two separate national retail chains. After retiring in 1998, Charles and Goldie moved to the Dallas area where he enjoyed many years working on his dream house, garden, and pool. His time in Dallas was marked by service to others. He and Goldie served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, one in the Dallas Temple and another in the Fort Worth Mission home. He also dedicated over 13 years of his life serving as a Church Patriarch, impacting the lives of many in his Stake with his love and inspiration.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Goldie Marie. Daughters Debbie Hansen (Todd), DeeAnn Spence (Greg) and sons Richard Needs (Cheryl), Randy Needs (Joanne), Rusty Needs (Roxane) and Rion Needs (Charlotte). Along with 24 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a celebration of his life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Draper 10th Ward Chapel located at 1450 East Raddon Drive, Draper, Utah. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM that same day at East Lawn Memorial Hills located at 4800 North 650 East Provo, Utah.
