Pearl Virginiia Koenig Allgier

1924 ~ 2016

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on March 5 of dementia and other age-related problems, one day shy of her 92nd birthday. She was born to Henry Koenig and Martha Kahn Koenig. After high school Mom married our father, Darwin Allgier. While the war was going on, Dad served his country while Mom worked welding tube filaments for radio communications for the war effort. After the war they had four children: Richard, Jim, David and Steven. When our father got sick at age 36, our mother cared for him until his passing at age 62. She and our father were always there for the children. Mom was very positive and had a great belief in God. Mom loved to play slot machines in Wendover, board games and crossword puzzles. Mom was a shoe collector. Mom also took in many stray people through the years. As time went on, she took in grandchildren, one of which was her granddaughter, Kristen, who became like a daughter; they did so much together.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Darwin; sons David, Steven and Richard; grandson Kelly; 5 sisters and a brother. Survived by her son Jim (Carol), 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family thanks the staff at Rocky Mountain Care and Rocky Mountain Hospice for the great care and support in her last years.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 11th at 11am in the Salt Lake City Cemetery (4th Ave. and ‘N' Street). A viewing for friends and family will be held at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. So. Temple) Friday from 9:30-10:30 prior to services.
