Carl Patrick Van Patten

1966 ~ 2018

Carl Pat Van Patten arrived into this world on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1966 in Spanish Fork, Utah. By the age of ten he could fix small motors and build his own go-carts. He spent most of his life bringing old bikes back to life and gifting them to neighborhood kids. Carl would fix anything for anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of his working life was in refrigeration construction, which he did all over the country. As an adult he loved to hunt and wore camouflage almost exclusively. Being in nature brought him peace, especially Loafer Mountain.

He returned to his Maker on December 23, 2018, in the arms of his fiancé Donna Lewis in Riverton Utah. Carl was welcomed to the other side by his namesakes: father Frank Carlisle Van Patten, grandfather Carlisle Van Patten, grandfather Ellis "Pat" Fuller, and uncle Carl Sidney Dart. Joining them is a large extended family and friends who went before.

Mourning his loss are his mother Teresa "Teri" Dart Van Patten and brother Chad Van Patten of Pulaski, VA, brother Brian Van Patten, sister-in-law Virginia, and nephew Spencer of Springville, UT, and sister Susan Van Patten of Snowville, VA. Joining them is a large extended family and life-long friends Brian Adams and Pat Riley.

Services will be held in Virginia with details forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, please send prayers and help a neighbor as Carl did.
