Toni Lynn Mathews

1960 ~ 2018

Toni Lynn Mathews, 57, of everywhere, USA, graduating from Cottonwood High school in 1977, passed away suddenly, Jan. 27, 2018. Born August 25, 1960, to Pat Smith and Barbara O'Nash, both from Salt Lake City, Utah.

She is survived by her daughters Jessica and Tara Mathews, her mother Barbara, she is the oldest of 9 siblings, Farron, Weston, Shannon, Julie, Jason, Kelly, Andy, Amanda, nephews, nieces, that she kept in line with a sharp tongue and keen wit. She was preceded in passing by, her father Pat, grandparents, Mike, Jana, Bob, Anthony, Ed, Paul, Cary, and many more who had to wait for her so she could once again be the life of their party.

Toni was an adventurous, intelligent woman who has been known to chop wood in her heels, with her hair and makeup done, before going to work to be sure the kids stayed warm. She showed us all the beauty of the outdoors, finding adventures and creating art using any material as canvas. She was a gorgeous woman who didn't care about getting dirty, and had such empathy toward every living creature. She was known for her cooking ability, she was not permitted near the stove without a fire alarm present. She also taught us that hard boiled eggs can become grenades when cooked too long and that water can burn. She was the klutz extraordinaire who left her mark and will be missed by everyone.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 3, at the Apple Farm Ward, 3751 South 2200 West in West Valley beginning at 11AM. A visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 10 AM, as well as Friday from 6-8PM at the same location.
