John Arthur Price

1929 ~ 2014

Our father John Arthur Price peacefully passed away in his sleep Wed. Dec. 3rd, 2014 at the age of 85. Born on St. Patrick ºs Day, March 17th, 1929 to John Ernest Price and Vivian Eardley Price. He was the epitome of "the Greatest Generation" a WWII Vet enlisting in the Marine Corps after graduating from South High School in 1946 at the age of 17. He also served during the Korean War, and was the youngest Gunnery Sergeant at the age 22. During his service to his country he received his initial training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA followed by Ewa Field Marine Corps Air Station HI, MCAS Miramar San Diego and Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA. After an Honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1957 he worked for Sears Roebuck and Company, Head Manager of the Parts/Service and Repair Department. In 1962 he was recruited by DeVilbiss, one of the world\s largest brands in the spray finishing industry, serving as General

Manager of the western regional Rocky Mountain States. He retired from DeVilbiss in 1991 at the age of 62.

John was an exceptional role model to his three children Shauna, Shelley, and John. He was loved and adored by everyone who was lucky enough to have him in their lives. Always positive from the moment his feet hit the floor when he woke up to the time he put his head to rest. He loved to ski with his kids when they were young as well as into adulthood. John also skied with his buddies in his later years. He was a proud member of an august group of handball players known as the "Over the Hill Gang", Gil Iker, Grant Southwick(deceased) Ross Thorsesen, John Barnes,

Bill Gehrke(deceased) and Jerry Romney, to whom he remained close. Handsome, caring, articulate, bright, well read, infectious personality, keen sense of humor, charitable, great story teller, loved playing cards, could fix almost anything, and an animal lover.

Pop as known to his family was bigger than life and left a lasting impression on all of us.

His kids were his world as he was ours!
