Jerry Philip Gray

Jerry Philip Gray passed away on October 5, 2017.

Jerry was born December 2, 1967 to Jerry Lynn and Danna Chapman Gray in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jerry grew up in Salt Lake where he graduated from Highland High School. Jerry married the love of his life Jennie Peterson May 28, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He worked many years in the health and fitness industry in several capacities including product development and marketing.

Years of competitive body building, a propensity to tell wildly inappropriate jokes and his devotion to the Raiders football team conveyed an air of intimidation to the outside world. Those who knew Jerry knew him as a sentimental, gentle giant who loved his friends and family. Growing up Jerry excelled at many sports including rugby, football, and soccer.His Highland rugby team famously won the championship in 1985.Jerry was so proud of his beautiful family and showed them his love through constant acts of service. His intelligence, wit and humor drew people to him. Jerry was well loved for many reasons, but most of all because of his big, tender heart and genuine care for others.

Although Jerry will be sorely missed, he leaves behind a legacy of humor, compassion and love for family. Above all, Jerry deeply loved his three boys.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jennie; and his three sons, Alec Braxton, Jaxon and Aiden; mother, Danna; brother, Jeff (Shelly); sister, Natalie (Bob); many nieces and nephews that adored him. Preceded in death by his father Jerry Lynn Gray.

Funeral services will be held,Wednesday, October 11th, 11:00 amat the Westland 8th Ward, 7115 S 3200 West, Taylorsville. Visitations will be heldTuesdayevening6 to 8 pmat Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd., andWednesdaymorning 9:30 to 10:45 am at the Ward. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
