Beverley Ruth Burton Hurd (80) slipped gently from this world to the next to be with her eternal companion on June 24, 2016. She left with many family members by her side.
Beverley was born August 25th 1935 in Murray, Utah. She was the second oldest of 9 children born to Phyllis and Samuel Burton. Her parents later divorced. She attended West High School in Salt Lake City where she met her future husband, Dean Edward (Ed) Hurd. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1955. Together they were blessed with 3 children and Beverley was able to stay home to raise them. Ed was a partner in Custom Milling and Supply in Salt Lake City. She and Ed had many opportunities to travel and to ride together on their Harley which they both enjoyed. Ed passed in 1998.
Beverley was not the same after Ed's passing and suffered a stroke several years ago. She struggled with many complications over the years since. She was most recently a resident of Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation Center (Ogden) where she lived for the last few years.
Beverley was preceded in death by Ed, her parents, her brothers, Eddie and Brent, and her sister Shirley. She is survived by siblings, Jackie, Samuel, Donna, Carol, and Verna and many of their spouses and children. She is survived by her children: Dale Hurd (Peggy) of Boise, Idaho, Susan Sodoma (Peter) of Layton, and Patricia Lords (Harry) of West Haven, 6 grandchildren, their spouses, and 7 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank those who've cared for her at Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation and Brighton Home Health and Hospice. Funeral will be a closed family event.
