William Leroy Zumwalt, born February 8, 1927 in Muscatine, Iowa to William Patrick Zumwalt and Evalena Ross, passed away August 28, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Married LaVaughn Irene Smith April 30, 1949, after a two week romance that lasted 55 years. He served in the Navy during World War II. Worked as a steel layout man. He was an avid out door sportsman.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, grandson, Darren Wilcock, brothers, Jackson Zumwalt and James Zumwalt. Survived by his children, Patricia (Darrell) Rees, David Zumwalt; grandchildren, Troy (Janessa) Rees, Brook Church, Eryn Zumwalt; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa; great grandchildren, Brittany, Bethanie, Jacob, Matthew, Ryan, Violette, Jacelyn, Blake, Aliyah; great great-grandchild, Cole and brother, Mason Moore.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
