Hilde Brown (Doris Hildegard)

Hilde brown (Doris Hildegard Brown) passed away after 87 years on March 13, 2021, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by her 3 children: Susan (Ron) Smith, Kim (Bob) Loyd, and Ronald (Susan) Barnes. 12 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Hilde was born on June 5, 1934, in her family home in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. After growing up in Germany during a tumultuous time and being raised in the Lutheran Religion, she came to America in August of 1955.

She was a wonderful housekeeper and loved to clean, working in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at Best Western and Wagon Wheel Hotels. She was also a fantastic cook of both American and her native German foods. Hilde loved to can her own fruit and made delicious fudge.

A lifelong animal lover, she was fond of her dogs and birds, often speaking to them in both English and German to the point where they understood her in both languages. While living in Wyoming, she also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to snowmobile as well as chop her own firewood to keep her home warm during the winter.
