Obituary

Hillary Cisneros Tapp, 48, passed away on October 19th from complications related to silent seizures she had endured over the past year. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend — well known for her vibrant smile and contagious laugh. She is already deeply missed by so many.

Hillary was born on August 23rd, 1978, to Melvin and Ruth Cisneros in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised in Magna with her 3 brothers, later moving to Holladay where she attended Olympus High School.

Her greatest purpose and joy was being a mother to her four beloved children, Gavin Lyons, Soraya Jayne, Cait Lee, and Ella Ruth, whom she raised and loved with her first husband, Jared Corpuz. She later married Bart Tapp and spent the final six years of her life being treated like a princess, going to amusement parks, concerts, frequenting the movies, and spending time with friends and family.

As a mother, she delighted in creative projects for her children, including designing and sewing Halloween costumes, blankets, and repairing their favorite stuffed animals.

While raising her children, she earned her cosmetology license and used her skills to give family and friends haircuts and color, along with kind words and encouragement. Clients left their appointments with more than a new hairstyle—they gained an unconditionally loving friend who listened and offered thoughtful advice.

Hillary loved hiking, rollerblading, yoga, catching up with friends and family, gardening, and nurturing plants. She cherished nature and the beauty around her. She also loved Harry Potter and Pokémon Go, reaching level 70 as a Pokémon trainer. Her deep love for animals included her orange rescue cat, Rocket.

She served passionately in Young Women's, Relief Society, and most recently Primary. Hillary loved the temple and attended the Saratoga Springs Temple every Wednesday with her husband, Bart, taking the names of beloved ancestors to perform their work.

Hillary was unassuming, undemanding, and never sought the spotlight. She loved others sincerely, quietly reaching out to comfort those who were less fortunate or overlooked.

Above all, Hillary was a beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father with a deep and abiding love for the Savior Jesus Christ and for others.

Her untimely passing is difficult for us all, and she will be deeply missed.

Hillary is survived by her children, Gavin, Soraya, Cait, and Ruthie; her parents, Melvin and Ruth Ciseneros; her brothers, Cameron, Tyler, with whom she had been reunited, and Colton; as well as her extended Tapp family and grandchildren, who lovingly call her “Nana”, in addition to the extended Corpuz family.

"Easter is a reminder of all the hope for myself.
That someday I will be healed and someday I will be whole.
Someday I won't have any metal or plastic inside of me.
Someday my heart will be free of fear and my mind free of anxieties....
l am so glad I truly believe in a beautiful afterlife."

A viewing will be held at 6pm on Thursday October 29th with an additional viewing at 10am on Friday, October 30th. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, October 30th, 2026, at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel near the Saratoga Springs Temple.

We were besties since birth. We did so much together as kids and into our adult life including working together. We checked in with each other weekly and I will forever miss that. I’m grateful that I know I’ll see her again. I love you so much Hilly!

There are truly no words that can take away the pain of losing a parent. It’s a kind of heartbreak that changes you forever. I hope that as time goes on, the memories that bring tears today will eventually bring more smiles than sadness. The love you shared doesn’t end with goodbye, and the impact they had on your life will always be a part of who you are. I pray that you and your family find strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead. Sending you all so much love. ❤️

I met Hillary on accident, as I went to the wrong house, but what a heavenly blessing it was. She was instantly a beautiful, remarkable, and longed for friend. Even when life gave her limitations, she filled lives with His light, hope, and happiness. I’m so grateful for coincidences, that were never coincidences at all.
