Holly Jill Carroll Ringwood

1952 ~ 2023

Holly Jill Carroll Ringwood, beloved wife and dear friend, died Monday, June 19, 2023, in West Jordan, Utah. She was born March 26, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to William Henry Carroll and Helen Maitland Carroll. Holly and her parents relocated to Utah in 1958. She graduated from Westminster College and taught English and Reading at John F. Kennedy Junior High school for 30 years.

Holly and Douglas Kay Ringwood married in 1988. They loved to travel to the Oregon Coast where they flew kites, spent time in quaint shops and walked along the beach. They also enjoyed their travels throughout Utah with their trailer and dogs for trap shooting competitions.

One of Holly’s many joys was spending time with her dogs whether it was camping in the mountains, spending time on the coast, or enjoying them at home. She loved telling fun stories about them to her friends.

Holly loved her association with her friends. She enjoyed inviting them to her home for lunch, refreshments or just for a visit.

Because of the dedicated caregivers Holly had, she was able to spend the last few years of her life in the comfort of her home. A special thanks to Andrea Hone for her friendship and loving care and for always being so attentive and compassionate.

Holly is survived by her dear husband, Doug and her fur babies, Rowdy and Rainey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) on Friday June 30, 2023. Please join us between 12:30-2 pm to celebrate Holly and her life with family and friends.

Guestbook/Condolences

I enjoyed teaching with Holly for twenty years. After I retired, I substitute taught for Holly on many occasions. I was impressed with the orderliness of her classroom and the thorough notes for the substitute (me). She was efficient and fun to be around. She was a teacher I enjoyed substituting for. (I know, I know! One should never end a sentence with a preposition!) Oops, forgive me, English teacher. No more pain for you -- halleluia! Love you, girl. I'll see you later. --Pat

I was privileged to have Holly as my neighbor in the English hall at JFK JHS. Over the years she counseled and advised me on many aspects of teaching, helping me to develop and grow as a teacher. She was irreplaceable.
My condolences to her family and all her friends.
