William Richard Rytting

1924 ~ 2013

Bill was the son of Minnie and Earl Rytting with brothers and sisters Ed, LaVon, June and Bob. It was a large, happy family. They lived on Lake Street, one block from Liberty Park, a great neighborhood for a boy to grow up. Bill graduated from East High and attended the University of Utah until World War II broke out. As soon as he was 18 he enlisted in Naval Aviation and was a pilot on the USS Bunker Hill.

He was introduced to Suzy Harris by friends at the U of U. And, as the old song goes, "I took one look at you, that's all I meant to do and then my heart stood still!" They were married December 27, 1949, sixty-four years ago. Bill found the career he loved and was meant for when he went to work for Wheeler Machinery in 1964. He worked there until he retired. He traveled much, selling giant earth moving equipment to road and dam builders, Kennecott Copper, and even the giant pumps on the west end of the Great Salt Lake.

Bill and Suzy have two wonderful daughters, Jinx and Robyn, and thanks to them, a large and loving family!

Bill is survived by his wife Suzy, Lhasa Apso Angel, Jinx, Bob, and Bryan Strout, Carrie, Cash, Jessie and Emma Peterson, Robyn Rytting, JD, Sylvia, and Lexi Auerbach, Liz and Jarrid Hadland and the Texas and Oregon Ryttings.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark at 2:00 on Saturday, November 2nd with internment immediately following. There will be a gathering to celebrate Bill's life at the home of Jinx and Bob Strout following the internment from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society of Utah.

Enough of the history, let's go ski the powder! - Bill
