Bart Crook

1923 ~ 2013

Born June 23, 1923 to Ernest and Grace Crook in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bart left us on August 11th to join the love of his life, Lois. Bart grew up in Lakepoint, Utah where he engaged in no end of mischief. Bart joined the Merchant Marines serving during World War II. Bart was actively wooing Lois Nielsen from oversees and returned to marry her on December 15, 1944.

They built a beautiful family together, a daughter Kathleen (Gary) Takenaka and son Russell (Cheryl) Crook, and four grandchildren R. Josh (Michelle) Player, Ryan (Sally) Crook, Elizabeth Player, Natalee (Calen) Carter. Great-grandchildren followed: Sawyer Rain Player, Amelia Dutch Player, Wyatt Arce Crook, Rusty Clayton Carter.

Bart was passionate about his family, his restored automobiles, and his hobbies. He enjoyed a spirited debate and relished in standing up against the majority.

We will miss Bart's contagious laugh, remarkable memory, jokes, and colorful stories. His friends and traveling companions in the VMCCA will miss him as well.

The family would like to thank all those at Carrington Court who laughed with and loved Bart in the last miles of his fantastic journey.
