Shirley Jean McGrath, 79, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2015 at her home in Sandy. Shirley was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on June 15, 1935 to Leland William and Adeline Eva Hudak Morgan. She graduated from West High School class of 1954 and married Gary Douglas McGrath Sr. on October 29, 1954. They later divorced. Shirley had a long career at Mountain Bell in Salt Lake City. There she made many wonderful and cherished friends through the years.
Shirley loved her family and friends and enjoyed many a vacation, with trips to the ocean being her favorite. She also enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking and crocheting.
Shirley is survived by her son Gary Douglas (Adriana) McGrath, daughter Sharon (Robert) McGrath-Reese, granddaughters Holly (Tory) Foster-Bohen, Kristen McGrath and Nathalia Moreno, grandsons Nicholas John Foster and Gabriel Moreno and a great grandson Brixton Radd Foster. Preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Walter W. Naisbett and daughter Susan McGrath-Foster.
The family would like to thank everyone at Utah Cancer Specialists and Quality Home Health and Hospice Services. The care and support you provided for the entire family was second to none.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at The Chateau,1930 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A reception will be held one hour prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
