Eileen and Perk

Together Again

Eileen Maxfield Perkins, Perky's sunshine and Liz's loving Mother, passed away peacefully March 4, 2017, surrounded by her daughter and close friends Diane and Angelo. Born October 11, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hillard Arthur Maxfield and Sophia Smith Maxfield, Eileen was the last survivor of the seven Maxfield children. As a child Eileen was a tomboy, always known for raising a ruckus with her brother Paul and friends, her love of camping, and riding horses at rodeos and into the mountains. But it was when she met and married "Perk" Frank Perkins that her life became magical. Shortly, Liz made it a trio and from there the escapades began, camping and fishing, card and board games, weekends at the cabin, insect and rock collecting, road trips through the northwest with Bam and Bamp exploring every tidal pool and hunting for the next premier rose bush for Bam's garden; which through time became Eileen and Perk's garden. Through it all it was the extraordinary love between Eileen and Perk, and their constant companions SmokeyJo and MistyLu, followed by Buddy and Saucy, that attracted so many into their circle. Eileen never fully recovered from Perk's passing and her life's journey slowly faded, which eased her loss. Eileen is survived by her daughter Liz, son-in-law Norbert Perrimon, granddaughters Pamela and Sarah, and sister-in-law Doris Maxfield. She also leaves behind her chosen family Diane, Angelo, Andy, Danice, Ellen, and Connie. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Eileen: all of the 4th floor crew at Sunrise at Holladay and Comfort Worx Hospice and especially their fabulous, empathetic nurse Carol Ferguson. Like Perk before her, Eileen chose to have no final services. Eileen has been cremated by Larkin Mortuary and her ashes mixed with those of her beloved Perky. The ashes will be spread to the winds this coming summer by Liz, Norbert, Pamela and Sarah. Perk has been waiting for Eileen for almost 11 years, and it's a sure thing that Perk is now showing Eileen how to use her new wings as together they plan their heavenly adventures "Forever and Always". In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made in Eileen's name to Comfort Worx Hospice, 1485 E. 800 No., Orem, UT 84003.
