Lee and Izola spent many years together serving family, community, friends and in Church callings. Lee served in all the Priesthood Quorums throughout his life at both the Ward and Stake level. He served at the Salt Lake Temple and Visitors Center. He was in the Sugarhouse Lions Club for 16 years. Lee and Izola served together in a Branch Presidency at the Wasatch Villa Rest Home for 2 years and on the airport shuttle to the Salt Lake Temple grounds for 3 years. They served in the Cebu Philippines mission in 1984 and then were called to change their mission and became the 2nd President of the Manila MTC in 1985. In 1991 they served in the Suva Fiji mission, first as Branch President and then as the mission office couple. In 1996 they served at the Manila Temple Patron House.

Lee and Izola were among the first members of the Temple Riders Association motorcycle group. They traveled as far East as St. Louis Missouri, west to California visiting many of the Temples and Church history sites from Alaska to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Many wonderful trips were enjoyed with friends on motorcycles. They traveled far more miles on a motorcycle than in an automobile.

Lee coached little league baseball, basketball and football.

Lee liked most all sports. He was an avid skier all his life with a great love for Park City. He taught his children and grandchildren to ski and loved skiing with anyone that would go with him.

Lee worked on the side lines at the University of Utah football games for 50 years and in 2003 was awarded the SUPER FAN award for his many years of service.

In the 4th grade Lee began playing the saxophone and continued to play thru College. He was in the U of U marching band as well as the 96th Division Reserve Band. He also enjoyed playing the organ.

Lee enjoyed keeping his garden as a show piece for his neighbors. He was a friend to all the dogs and pets and fed treats to all that lived near him.

Lee and Izola loved to travel in their retirement years and visited many countries throughout the world. For Lee and Izola's 50th, 55th and 60th wedding anniversaries they took all the children and their spouses on never to be forgotten cruises.

The family will always remember Izola preparing Lee as Santa. For twenty years the family spent Christmas morning at the Primary Children's Hospital serving those precious sick children who couldn't be home for the Holidays. Santa visited many thousands of people during the Christmas Season. Santa also anonymously gave a gift of money to many General Authorities, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to give to those in need as they were prompted by the Spirit.

Lee followed the admonition from Mosiah 2:17, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God."

He also lived by "As for me and My House I will serve the Lord"

One of Lee's greatest compliments was given to him from Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone telling him he was truly a Christ-like man. Lee is truly loved by his eternal sweetheart Izola, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all who had the blessing to be touched by his life.
