Clara Luz Moya Richardson

1939 ~ 2019

Clara Luz Moya Richardson peacefully passed away at her home at the age of 80, after a short battle with cancer.

Clara was born in Curico, Chile. Her father was Moisés Humberto Moya and her mother was Emperatriz Huerta. Her first marriage was with Dario Pinet Morales with whom she was married for more than 30 years. In that marriage she had five children: Dario, Alejandro, Julio, Fernando and Eliana, and 11 grandchildren. After she was widowed, she began her adventures in the United States.

Her profession was as a seamstress, and later she took up baking. Her specialty was Chilean cuisine, which included thousand-layer pastries.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for almost 50 years.

She was married again in 1998 to Sam Richardson who took care of her, protecting and respecting and loving her until her last days.

She was an ideal example for mothers, a grandmother unique in her goodness. She sacrificed her time and all kinds of resources in order to legally and honestly bring her children to this country.

She lived an impeccable life in the service of the Lord. She was a woman full of righteousness, and she helped her fellow man. She served two missions: a service mission and a full-time mission. She was a temple worker in Santiago, Chile and at the Salt Lake Temple for more than 10 years.

Services were held Friday August 16th with burial in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
