Michael was born on February 23, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jack W Avery and Charlotte Lassiter. He passed away on June 17, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Diabetes, Kidney and Liver disease.
He worked as a meat cutter for over 20 years, at Albertsons and Fresh Market. He enjoyed working with many of the stores associates. He also managed a floor cleaning Company, New Technologies, for many years. He married Carol Carson in 1970, later divorced. He married Jackie Edwards in1978, later divorced. He married Laura Barnhurst in 1997, later divorced. He married Melonie Olsen in 2000. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Michael enjoyed fishing, and playing and teaching pool. He ran a children\s pool league. He also loved to make walking canes and hiking sticks which he would give away, especially to people in need. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends doing many different activities. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Michael is survived by his father Jack W Avery, his wife Melonie Avery, Children Shanna (Chuck) Ledgerwood MT., Shon (Shannon) Avery OK., Alina Avery WY, Josef (Ricki) Avery, Kandra (Adrian) Martinez, Michaella Avery, Nicholas Avery, Kassidy Avery, and Steve Holden. Grandchildren Teresa (Jeremy) McNabb, Tyler Ledgerwood, Tristan Ledgerwood, Nickolas Avery, Nicole Avery, Alysa Avery, Jacee Avery, Sadie Jo Avery, Dominic Avery, Dillan Avery, Jolee Avery, Kalyan Avery, Phillip Avery, Gabby Avery, Aubrey Avery, Jaidalynn Avery, Jayden Avery, Adreonna Avery, Tayanna Martinez, and Rayanna Martinez. Great-grandchildren; Keegan McNabb, and Gracelyn Avery. Brothers; Roger Jones, Jon Jones, Lynn Jones, Glenn Jones, Jay Gault, Jerry Avery, and Danny Avery. Preceded in death by Mother Charlotte Gault, Sister Connie Avery, and Grandson Devon Avery.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and medical staff that assisted with Michael during these last several years. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, 3688 W. 12600 S., Riverton UT, 84065. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan 21st ward 7511 S. 2700 W., West Jordan, UT 84084 with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
