Ilene Holdaway, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Sandy, Utah, at the age of 73.
Born on August 5, 1952, in Provo, Utah, to Warren Perkins and Vera Mae Bliss, Ilene grew up with a deep appreciation for the beauty of life and nature. Her warmth, creativity, and vibrant spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Ilene possessed a profound love for animals, which she channeled into a successful, multi-year career as a bird breeder. Her dedication to her feathered friends extended into her community, where she was an active and cherished member of the Wasatch Avian Bird Club for many years.
Beyond her love for animals, Ilene was a remarkably creative soul. She found great joy in art and sewing, but her absolute favorite pastime was sharing her love of creativity with her family. She spent countless hours doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren, leaving them with beautiful handmade treasures and even more beautiful memories.
Ilene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvon H. Holdaway. Her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on through her family.
She is survived by her sons: Wade Holdaway and Cody Holdaway, and her grandchildren: Zack, Ben, Wade V. Jr., and Ivy-Jane Holdaway.

My heart is broken over the loss of my Aunt Ilene .. I will always remember her being like a mom to us when we were little. Some of my favorite memories are going to visit her and Marv, along with Cody and Wade, when they lived in El Paso. Those times were filled with so much love, laughter, and kindness, and I will cherish them forever.
Aunt Ilene was always so good to me, she had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcome. She and Marv both hold such a special place in my heart, and they will be deeply missed. I take comfort in knowing that the beautiful memories we shared will stay with me always.
