Reid McMurdie 91, passed away January 21, 2014 of natural causes due to age. Born October 30, 1922 in Logan, Utah to David and Loretta James McMurdie (deceased)
Family moved to Salt Lake City 1923. Attended Uintah, Irving Jr. and East High School. Attended USAC 2 years met the love of his life Helen Taylor of Bear River City, Utah and married. She passed away May 1994. They had 5 children, Anne Bowlden (Steve Sanders) Portland Oregon, David McMurdie (Lureeta) Salt Lake City, Pamela Hilton (Jim) St. George, Utah, Linda Sever (David deceased) Portland, Oregon, Steven (Geri) Salt Lake City, and 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen and siblings, Brothers Ralph (Marjorie), Lewis (June), Verna (Tom Call)
Reid worked at Remington arms and enlisted in the US Navy. After World War II, Reid worked with the family business Reo McMurdie Co, Auto, Truck and Trailer Dealer and Distributor. Reid also started Reo Sales and Service in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Reid enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Reid loved spending time at his summer home in Altonah, Utah with many friends there.
He always said when things look the darkest, tomorrow will be brighter. Life is just what you make it. Member of the LDS Church.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 25th 2:00 pm. Friends and family may visit 12:30-1:45pm. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery 2350 East 1300 South.
