Ora May Palfreyman Bowen McNeal

1921 ~ 2015

Our family lost a true angel on April 26th, 2015, our beloved mother and GG, Ora May. She was born on February 5, 1921 in Pocatello, Idaho to Olive Fullmer and Ivan Gibson Palfreyman. She was the 4th of ten children.

Ora May married Merlin Frank Bowman, the love of her life, on May 4, 1938 and later was sealed on December 14th, 1984 in the Jordan River Temple. They were married for over 50 years and blessed with 3 children Janet, Wayne and Julia.

Ora May\s membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was very important to her and her testimony meant everything. She served in many church callings but especially loved being in Primary!

She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneer and loved to garden, especially her roses. She enjoyed going to Quartzsite, AZ and being a Cookie Cutter dancer, but most of all was a great care giver to Dad. Dad died on December 27, 1988 and 2 years later mom married her second sweetheart Robert Henry McNeal on March 9, 1991 and was married 17 years. She was blessed and enjoyed being a part of his 3 children\s lives Brian, Steven, and Marilyn. She always said the Lord gave her 2 great men but she wasn\t going to try for a 3rd.

Ora May was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandma, great grandma and great-great grandma. She was a friend and an example to all. Each generation of her posterity will miss her greatly.

She leaves behind 2 daughters Janet (Andrew) Anderson and Julia (Derk) Pehrson, daughter-in-law Vickey Bowman, three step children Brian McNeal, Steven (LaDawn) McNeal and Marilyn (Gary) Fergus, 32 grandchildren, 103 great grandchildren with 1 on the way and 23 great-great grandchildren with 3 on the way, brother Dale (Joyce) Palfreyman and sister-in-law Isolda Palfreyman ,many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by husbands, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, son Merlin Wayne Bowman and step-daughter Dee Ann McNeal.
